Edward Ray Park
This highly used park is located in a residential area on N Fifteenth Street at the north end of town. It is the largest city park at 27.4 acres. Off-street parking is accessed from Fifteenth Street. There are open play grass areas and semi-shaded spaces for picnics, gatherings, or outdoor activities. The park also has two lighted softball fields, one lighted baseball field, a full-size lighted soccer field, and unlighted soccer areas. The park also has restroom facilities and a concession stand that is operated during sports league games. The park also has the Lioness Pavilion and the Edward Ray Community Center Building which can be rented.
Veterans Memorial Park
This lovely 2.1-acre park is located on the main street of Chowchilla, Robertson Boulevard, and is the first park set aside with the founding of the settlement that came to be known as Chowchilla in the early 1900s. The park features meandering sidewalks around and through the parcel and beneath the large shade trees that add a coolness to the park on sunny days. Various community gatherings and special events are held at this attractive park. In addition to on-street parking spaces, amenities include a playground, park benches, horseshoe courts, restrooms, and two park pavilions that can be rented for picnics. The Farnesi Pavilion is on the Robertson Boulevard side of the park, and the Lions Pavilion is on the Kings Street side.
RC Wisener Park
This park is known as the home of the Chowchilla Little League and is located across the street from the Chowchilla City Hall and the Police Department. On-street parking surrounds most of the 4.5-acre park that features two well-maintained, lighted baseball fields and one unlit smaller baseball field for younger players. A concession stand is operated by the Little League and is open during baseball games. The park also has a playground, park benches, restrooms, and the Rotary Pavilion that can be rented for picnics.
Reserve a Park Pavilion
Park pavilions can be reserved for family picnics, birthday parties, reunions, company get-togethers, and more. Before planning your event and reserving a park pavilion, Visit our website to see if your date is available, or visit Chowchilla City Hall, 130 S Second Street, Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM. Sorry, we do not take reservations over the phone.
Pavilion reservations must be made no later than three days closest to the day of the event. Adding a bounce house has additional requirements, and the application must be submitted no less than ten days prior to the rental date. See below for more information.
Refunds for cancellations ONLY must be requested no less than three (3) business days prior to the reserved use date. Refunds will NOT be issued for inclement weather on the day of use.
You can download the Park Pavilion Reservation Form to fill out ahead of time and bring it to City Hall to complete your reservation. If you want to see if your preferred date and park pavilion are available, call City Hall at (559) 665-8615.
Final classification of your reservation (standard or special event) is subject to staff review.

Alcohol & Tobacco Policy
Alcohol and Tobacco are prohibited in all City Parks; California state law prohibits and deems it unlawful for any person within CITY park properties and/or FACILITIES where a youth sports event is taking place to use a tobacco product within 250 feet of the youth sports event. Furthermore, Chowchilla Municipal Code Section 8.26.30 (A) prohibits smoking in 'recreational areas,' defined as "Any areas that are public or privately owned, controlled or used by the City of Chowchilla and open to the general public for recreational purposes, regardless of any fee or age requirement. The term RECREATIONAL AREA includes but is not limited to parks, picnic areas, playgrounds, sports fields, walking paths, gardens, bike paths, riding trails, swimming pools, and skateboard parks. The term RECREATIONAL AREA does not include any streets and/or sidewalks located within or upon any abutting right-of-way." among other areas as described in CMC Section 8.26.00
Park Hours
City parks are open to the public daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Parks are closed between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., except for permitted activities or City-authorized use.
Use of City parks outside of posted hours is prohibited unless approved by the City of Chowchilla.
Report an Issue or Safety Concern in the Park

The community may now rent the Edward Ray Community Center Building located at the park on 15th Street. This newly refurbished building has paint, flooring, chairs, tables, and a refrigerator. A small kitchen is available for an additional fee. This facility holds up to 81 people and includes an indoor restroom. Alcohol or Smoking is prohibited.
This is the only indoor facility the City of Chowchilla rents out. You can download the reservation form to fill out in advance and bring it to City Hall, or make your reservations online.

Online Reservations
Bounce House (Inflatable Amusement Device)
There are very specific guidelines that must be met in order to have a bounce house or similar inflatable amusement device in a city park or public property such as a street. In order to have a bounce house on public property, the bounce house vendor must have a current City of Chowchilla Business License, meet the City of Chowchilla Insurance Liability Coverage requirements, and provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming the City of Chowchilla as Additional Insured.
The Inflatable Amusement Device (Bounce House) Policy provides important information.
- A completed Park Pavilion Reservation Form and Inflatable Use Agreement Form, along with payment of the applicable fees, must be submitted no less than 10 days prior to the reservation rental date.
- The inflatable can only be used in conjunction with a park pavilion reservation.
- Only dry inflatables can be used. NO water-themed inflatables are allowed.
- Inflatables can only be rented from a vendor that has a current City of Chowchilla Business License, meet the City of Chowchilla Insurance Liability Coverage requirements, and provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming the City of Chowchilla as Additional Insured. - Neither the renter’s homeowners insurance nor a special insurance policy obtained by the renter can be accepted in lieu of a vendor’s insurance coverage.
- Refer to the Inflatable Use Agreement Form and the Inflatable Amusement Device (Bounce House) Policy for additional requirements.
