Emergency Preparedness

Responsibilities

The Chowchilla Police Department and the Chowchilla Volunteer Fire Department work closely with the Madera County Office of Emergency Services in preparing for natural and man made disasters.

Continued team building occurs through quarterly meetings with groups such as the Madera County Bioterrorism Advisory Committee and the City of Chowchilla Emergency Preparedness Team.

Be Prepared

Even though City personnel are trained in the State of California mandated Strategic Emergency Management, in a major citywide emergency all residents must be prepared to sustain themselves until emergency personnel can help them. State officials recommend families be prepared to sustain a 72-hour period without emergency services in case of mass disasters or emergencies.
