Airport

The Chowchilla Municipal Airport (FAA Identifier 206) is a general aviation airport established in 1947. It is managed by the City of Chowchilla Public Works Department. Contact the office during business hours at (559) 665-8615, ext. 789.

The airport is one (1) mile southeast of Chowchilla, CA (Madera County) west of Highway 99, specifically at the intersection of Avenue 25 and Airport Drive (east of Road 16). Use the Avenue 24 or Avenue 26 (Robertson Boulevard) exits from Highway 99, or the Road 16 exit (north) from Highway 152.

Two runways (12/30) are good condition asphalt with dimensions of 3,253 x 60 ft / 991.5 x 18.3 m. This is a non-towered airport. Pilots are directed to check FAA Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) for temporary flight restrictions by calling flight service at 800-WX-BRIEF.

No services are provided at this airport. The closest source for fuel, etc., is Madera Municipal Airport located about 10 minutes, air time, south of Chowchilla.

On-site facilities consist of permanent T-hangars, permanent and transient tie-down spaces. Thiel Air Care, Inc. (FBO) conducts business on the airport offering aerial agricultural application services.
